General Description:

The Charity Research Specialist I qualifies organizations recommended to receive grants through the National Christian Foundation and its Local Offices. This person applies critical data gathering and analytical skills to qualify charities based on NCF and IRS standards. As a result of the Charity Research Specialist I work, we are able to serve the givers of NCF and Local Offices in a timely manner and with excellent customer service.

Reports to : Distribution Services Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:

Renew and Approve Grantees

  • Qualifying grantees based on IRS and NCF granting standards
  • Resolve issues with grantees not approved during first approval stage
  • Communicate research issues to appropriate parties
  • Work closely with Charity Researchers to resolve grantee issues
  • Respond to donor, RM and Local Office representative’s questions
  • Manage grantee records by documenting all findings and communications

Other Duties as Assigned

Experience and Skills:


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • Some working knowledge of charitable, non-profit, foundation, and/or donor related subject matters
  • Two to four years’ experience in customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced level use of Microsoft Office and web browser applications
  • Actively integrates biblical principles in day-to-day behavior, exhibiting unremitting integrity and strong moral character
